Jody combines her unique experience in high-level strategic planning and implementation, team coordination/process management, project management, technical/financial analysis, client relations skills, and extensive oral and written communications to deliver optimal results and concrete client objectives.

Career Highlights:

After graduating Cornell University with a degree in Design and Environmental Analysis, Jody began her career as an ergonomist where she evaluated and improved the interface between humans and the machinery/software they were operating. It was here that she established her passion for creative problem solving. After six years, Jody realized that she wanted to apply those same problem solving skills to business. So, with that in mind, she commenced her MBA at The Wharton School of Business.

It quickly became evident, that the world of real estate with its focus on structuring deals and relationships in the built environment was a perfect fit with Jody’s design background and love of problem solving.

Jody’s next opportunity landed her with a boutique real estate consulting firm that provided market and financial feasibility analyses for commercial, residential and government real estate clients. From there she transitioned to the world of non-profits providing similar strategic planning, real estate and project management support to universities (and other non-profits) seeking to improve their campus experience and leverage their real estate assets. She honed her strategic planning and commercial real estate development skills while focusing on the areas of affordable/workforce housing, student housing and other auxiliary real estate projects.

In 1991, Jody was hired by George Washington University to manage their extensive portfolio (1.2 million square feet) of commercial investment real estate. Over her fourteen years at GW, her portfolio expanded to include many key assignments including significant real estate acquisitions, sizable renovations and repositioning of existing commercial, retail and residential assets. Her capstone project was managing the developer solicitation for the Square 54 (“The Avenue”) project.

Capabilities and Expertise:

With a robust understanding of real estate and the inner-workings of universities and non-profits, Jody decided to create JFW Consulting, LLC. With JFW Consulting as a platform, Jody offers her clients a variety of services that take advantage of her varied experiences in strategic planning, commercial development, investment real estate management, residential development and management, affordable/workforce housing, and project supervision.
